At St. Dunstan's Church, Monks Risborough, on the 22nd inst., George Willoughby, eldes son of Mr. Darville, Grange Farm, Great Kimble, to Edith Annie, eight and youngest daughter of Mr. F. R. Bishop, Askett.

    13. [S35] Bucks Herald, Kimble Golden Wedding: Mr. & Mrs. G. W. Darvill's recollections, 28 Oct 1938.
Mrs. Darvill's maiden name was Edith Annie Bishop, and she was one of thirteen children. She was born as the "Three Crowns", Askett, and her father, Mr. F. R. Bishop, was a collector of rates and taxes.
Mr. George Willoughby Darvill's father was Mr. Richard Darvill, a farmer and hay dealer, of Monks Risborough, but Mr. Darvill spent the majority of his early years at Prestwood where his family removed when he was a boy.
On October 22nd, 1888, when he was 29, and Miss Bishop 25, they were married at Monks Risborough. They went to live at Prestwood until the following March, when Mr. Darvill, sen, who had been living at Manor Farm, Great Kimble, died, and Mr. and Mrs. Darvill, jun., took over the farm, exchanging their Prestwood home with Mrs. Darvill, sen., and other members of the family. They stayed at Manor Farm until about two years ago, when the property was purchased by Mr. David Way, of Princes Risborough, and they came to live at a charming bungalow built especially for them near the road in the vicinity of the Great Kimble Railway arch on the edge of the field known as "Blind Close", because there is no footpath across it in any direction. They named the bungalow "Manor Cottage" in memory of the farm.
